Frequently Asked Questions

General How long does it take to generate a tutorial? Most tutorials are generated in 2–5 minutes, depending on the complexity of the task and the number of steps involved. Longer tasks with many page loads may take up to 10 minutes. Can I edit a tutorial after it's generated? Not directly through the Stepify interface at this time. If a tutorial needs corrections, it can be regenerated with the same goal. Future versions will support manual editing. Are tutorials updated when the platform changes? No. Tutorials reflect the state of the platform at the time they were generated. If a platform updates its interface, tutorials may become outdated and should be regenerated. Video and Media What format are the videos in? Videos are in WebM format, which is supported by all modern browsers. Each video is recorded at 1280×800 resolution. Can I download the video? Download functionality is coming soon. Currently, videos can only be viewed on the tutorial page. Why are some parts of screenshots blurred? Stepify automatically detects and blurs personally identifiable information (PII) like email addresses in screenshots. This protects privacy while keeping the tutorial useful. Platforms Can Stepify work with any website? Stepify can technically navigate any web application, but it works best with platforms that have pre-configured profiles (see Supported Platforms). Unsupported platforms may require additional setup. Does Stepify need my login credentials? Yes — to generate tutorials for authenticated applications, Stepify needs a valid session. Credentials are stored securely and used only for tutorial generation. Quality Why was my tutorial flagged for review? Tutorials scoring between 60–79 points are flagged for human review. Common reasons include: - The AI navigated to an unexpected page - Screenshots didn't clearly show the expected changes - The task was only partially completed Can I request a specific tutorial? Yes. Contact us through this support portal with: - The platform you want a tutorial for - A clear description of the task (e.g. "Create a new contact in Odoo CRM") - Any specific starting conditions (e.g. "Start from the Contacts page")
